Bleckmann’s Business Goals
- Bleckmann's goal was to enhance its service offerings for both current and potential customers in the field of 'Return Logistics' (or 'reverse logistics')
- Consumers used to send return goods to Bleckmann's warehouses without prior notice (Pre-Advise), causing challenges in return processing planning from Bleckmann's and customers' perspectives.
- There was a lack of communication regarding return status and potential refunds/credits to consumers. This led to a growing demand for expanded "reverse logistics" services from Bleckmann, especially in the eCommerce sector.
- Bleckmann needed a Pre-Advise capability that would enable it to plan staff and manage return flows efficiently. At the same time, implement centralized Track & Trace with status updates for better customer service.
- Furthermore, the company needed a Smart Portal for return logistics service that would enable it to establish new business sales channels, allowing future customers to sign up, select, and purchase services autonomously.
- In addition, Bleckmann aimed to develop a tailored and standardized SAAS application for customer marketing. The application would integrate with its WMS and Grading system, enhancing internal operations. The application would connect to "Local Heroes" API to generate return labels. Feedback and status updates from "local Heroes" would be integrated into the application, informing Bleckmann of return status.
Solution provided by Apoyar
- Apoyar offered two ways for their application to function. The first option was standalone, meaning the application was not integrated into the customer's webshop. Consumers were directed to the Bleckmann Returns Portal, either through a custom URL or an iframe on the customer's website, to select the order and order lines for returns. In this mode, the portal was customizable to match the customer's look and feel.
- The second option was integrated, where the application was integrated into the customer's webshop environment. Consumers could log in to the webshop and select the order and order lines for returns. There were two approaches for this: a fully customizable API integration or a Javascript implementation that communicates with the Bleckmann Returns Platform. The former allowed for more customization, while the latter was quicker to implement.
- Recently, Apoyar has developed a Scanning application that scans parcels in Bleckmann's warehouses and Outbound APIs that customers can integrate directly to generate a label. In addition, Apoyar has built B2B, LabelApp, Order Management, Warehouse Management, and Outbound Scanning applications, along with other modules like failed orders and reporting, which will be used internally by Bleckmann.
